    Jon Hauerwas

    The Rev. Jon Hauerwas Jonathan Hauerwas began serving as our pastor in 2011. Previously, he served as associate pastor at Worthington Presbyterian Church in Ohio. He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of South Carolina. After earning a B.A. degree in History, Jon spent one year in Edinburgh, Scotland serving a homeless hostel as a Young Adult Volunteer commissioned by the Presbyterian Church (USA). Following that experience, he attended Princeton Theological Seminary where he received a Master's of Divinity degree. Jon is currently enrolled as a doctoral student in the Church and Ministry program at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia. He and his wife, Kara, have a son named William "Liam" who was born in 2010. Jon enjoys golf, reading, traveling, and spending time with his family. Kara Hauerwas grew up in Oak Harbor, Washington. She is a graduate of Pepperdine University with a degree in International Business and holds a degree in Accounting from Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio. Kara currently works for Interfaith Coalition of Whatcom County as Bookkeeper and Development Coordinator.
