Red Springs Baptist Church

I grew up in the Red Springs Baptist Church. My dad was a deacon there for many years, and my mom played the piano and organ there. My dad and uncle helped build the church building. Wonderful church, wonderful people. Their pastors back during those years were generally young pastors with young families, just starting out, and were students at the Baptist Seminary in Fort Worth. Many went in to serve their careers as missionaries all over the world. Dr. Keth Patks even went on to become the head of the Foreign Missions Board. After retirement, he moved to The DFW metroplex, and he and another former pastor came back to Red Springs to preach my dad’s funeral.
