I was a member os PSBC while a student at Clarke College 72-74. I have so many wonderful memories from those days of friends and being at PS. Jim Spencer was a great preacher/pastor and friend. I’ve heard he is back there as pastor. Jim Arndt good to see your name here friend.

I grew up in this wonderful church! My father was Bill Montgomery. He was a deacon and Sunday School teacher and director for many years. We started attending when we moved into the community when I was 5 years old. So many wonderful people there who influenced my life. Bro. James Lee Spencer was the pastor there from around 1969 to 1976 or so. I well remember all the Clarke College students who attended there as Bro. Spencer was a teacher at the college. Jim Arndt (in a previous comment on this site) mentioned he was one. (

Poplar Springs Baptist Church was a church I visited often during my college days at Clarke College. It was a Poplar (pun intended) spot for many students at the time.
