Robert Frantz

I am Robert Frantz and the Senior Pastor at Northgate Christian Church in El Paso, Texas. I am a commissioned minister with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and bi-vocational. I was born and raised in Cortland, Ohio, and attended Bazetta Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) since I was one week old, and attended Sunday School regularly, participated in the youth groups, was an acolyte, junior deacon and deacon and helped coordinate Vacation Bible School during the summers. The two activities that consumed most of my time during my teen years were Marching and the Symphonic Band and Boy Scouts. I achieved the highest rank of Eagle Scout and am a Vigil Member, the highest honor of the Order of the Arrow. During the time as a scout, I had his first opportunity to preach part of a sermon with my father on Scout Sunday. Throughout the years, with the encouragement of my grandmother, family and fellow church members, I continued doing sermons for youth Sunday, Scout Sunday’s, and when the minister was on vacation. I attended the University of Cincinnati, and utilizing the University of Cincinnati’s Co-Op program of industrial work experience and study, I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management, and a Bachelor of Business in Operations Management and Accounting. I have been employed with Delphi Corp since graduating and it was this employment that brought me from Ohio to El Paso, Texas. Soon after moving to El Paso, I joined the Bethany Christian Church and delivered several sermons there when the minister was out of town. In spring of 2009, I was called to fill in a few Sundays at Northgate Christian Church after the passing of Rev. Pete Andrade. I was soon asked to accept the position of Interim Pastor and was later asked to remain as Senior Pastor. It is a lot of work having two jobs, but serving God is such a wonderful and fulfilling opportunity and I really enjoy this opportunity I have been given at this stage of my life.
