Dear Pastor, The world is going from bad to worse. Doing the same thing over and over expecting a different outcome is not working. Please Google : "Churches For Sale. Where Have The Christians Gone? A Choir Boy's Perspective." It is about the change to save the church.

    The Presence of the LORD!

Ronald S Nisby shared their experience Feb 2025

First and foremost, I love the people that frequently worship there as well as the presence of the Lord, which I can feel every time I enter the building. I will admit that it's a nice looking building even though I have to drive 25 miles from my house each time.....not complaining ONE BIT! When i gave my heart to the Lord on December 9, 1985, I was sitting on the edge of the bed around 10pm that Monday night. I'll relate the shorter version of why THIS CHURCH means so much to me. The man that became my Pastor, who baptized me over again because I didn't want to be associated with the Pastor of the first church, United Pentacostal Denomination that I was first baptized in (long story). It was Frank Dutton, my Pastor now who baptized me again. He founded OUR CHURCH, Northern Light Tabernacle. The original name was Rugged Cross Tabernacle, non-denominational. After the Lord performed a Miracle on me, the very next morning 5 days after I was operated on. I was admitted to the hospital the same night I surrendered my life to the Lord. I was having serious breathing problems the night of the 9th. We, my wife and I had to leave the basketball very early, actually, right after the referee blew the whistle to start the game. My wife drove me to the hospital because I couldn't even lay down in the bad, The pain was excruciating. After we arrived at the hospital, the doctors could not find anything definite that would pin-point the reason for the pain. I stayed in the hospital for 5 days. They gave me oxygen from one of those green cylinders because I wasn't getting enough oxygen to my lungs. After the MRI, they discovered that I was only using a 1/3 of my Left Lung. Mya chest was full of PHLEM, that's what the doctor said it was, which you can get from a fever or virus. The doctor told us that they will have to operate on me. They operated on me 5 days later, on the 13th. I was 40 years old. I had just been released from ARCO, Alaska on the slope working as an Instrument Technician. A couple of days after the operation, the doctor came to see how I was progressing. He told my wife that the medication was not doing what he was hoping it would do. He told my wife that evening after she arrived at the hospital that the medication is not doing what he was expecting it to do. What my left lung had was starting to spread to my right Lung. He said "if we don't get a miracle" I'm going to have to operate on his right Lung. He told her that I was too weak for another operation because I lost quite a bit of weight and my body was not reacting in a positive way he had hoped for. Of course, that was pretty devastating for my wife to hear. Later that night while I was in the Intensive Care Unit in my room, the Pastor of the United Pentacostal Church and the Piano Player showed up at my room. I told them what circumstances brought me there and that I had already given my life to the Lord. I though my wife had told him that I was in the hospital. My wife had been attending his Church for about 6 months without me. One of the Lady's in our neighborhood, a Christian, would visit her and they would sit in the dinning room discussing the Scriptures etc.. One day, while her friend was there, my wife turned to me and while she was sitting down next to her friend shaking her finger at me said " one day you're going to confess Jesus as your Savior". I didn't pay much attention to what she said, but somehow, she knew what she was talking about because I started going to her Church. That's how and why he was the one to baptized me first. It's amazing how the Lord moves. It was the very next day after I was prayed for by the Pastor and Piano Player of United Pentacostal Denominational Chruch that the medication began to have a positive affect on my healing. My wife would stop by every day after work to see me and when she arrived that evening, the doctor met her in the hallway and told her "looks like we got our miracle!" The medicine that we've given him is doing what it supposed to do. She cried and cried for quite a while because of the good news. I was discharged from the hospital 2 weeks later and started going to the Church she was going to. After I regain strength enough to start work again on the Slope about a year later, I met another Christian name Henry Herschel. I was a very proud Pentacostal Christian at the time, however, Henry asked me if I knew that the Lord sent a Prophet to our generation. I told him I never heard of a Prophet in our time. I asked if he had anything concerning this person. He said he had tape recordings of his messages and when I heard him preach about Moses, the title of the Sermon was "Why Cry, Speak!". My heart and mind lit up light a roman candle when I heard him. I enjoyed it so much that I inquired as to how I could get copies of his sermons. He told me how. After I began receiving his sermons on a regular basis and listening to them, it was light a new day dawning. I had never heard such a ministry with such authority and confidence. It was then that I decided to compile as many videos and pictures as possible of this Prophet. I was directed to a man that was very familiar with what I was trying to do and when he heard that I was living in Anchorage, he said that I may be aware of Frank Dutton, the man that Pastor's a small flock up here. I told him that I had not met the man. He gave me his cell number so I called him, my wife and I met him and I met him and his family and we started going to his Church instead of the denominational church. We moved from one building to the next for a few years until we finally found a building on a lot that we could rent and use for services. He asked me to be a Trustee. That's was in the 90's. Later, we found a lot in Chugiak and since we were a Church we needed an Instrument of Trust for a Commercial Loan. So I drew up an Instrument of Trust for the sake of the loan. Once we cleared the lot for building we had to apply for a construction loan. At this time it was after the 911 invasion. I had to form a corporation doe to strict rules of banks. I formed the corporation, bylaws etc.. and filed them with the state. We officially dedicated the Church in 2000. Our Pastor, Frank Dutton decided to change the name of the Church to Northern Light Tabernacle. Not only, did my Pastor rebaptized me, I was assigned greater responsibility within the Church....it became MY CHURCH!
