    Rev Donny Acton

    Reverend Donny Acton is the pastor of the New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church in the North Shelby County area of Alabama, south of Birmingham. He has served that congregation for over seventeen years. Prior to that, Reverend Acton pastored in Cherokee, AL for two years. He has served in the ministry in one form or another since he was in college. Donny graduated from the Memphis Theological Seminary with M Div degree in 1985 and Bethel University with BA 1982. In addition to being the Senior Pastor of New Hope, Donny is a chaplain with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and the North Shelby Fire and Rescue. Donny has served as a pastor to first responders for almost seventeen years and teaches other Chaplains in the beginning stages of serving first responders. Donny has been very active for many years with the local YMCA in coaching children and young people in sports and teaching them life values. Donny is married to the Reverend Mindy Acton. They have three sons and live in the North Shelby County area.
