Mount Olive Lutheran Church

About Us

Christian church; Real, Relevant, Biblical, Christ-centered.

Mt. Olive Lutheran Church is a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), and has been serving the community of greater Iron Mountain/Kingsford since the 1920s.
We believe and teach that faith in Jesus Christ as Savior is the one and only way to heaven--as the Apostle Paul says, "not by works, so that no one can boast." Salvation by God's grace alone through faith in Jesus is the heart and core of our faith.
Along with that, we believe and teach that the Bible is the only source of absolute truth, and that everything written in it is the error-free word of God, recorded by the hands of humans, but completely inspired word for word by the Holy Spirit. Because of this, the Bible is the source of all our doctrine and teaching.

What to Expect

What are services like?
Our services would be classified as 'traditional' by a lot of people's standards, but by no means should you equate that with boring! We see great value in the forms of the liturgy that believers have preserved for centuries, as well as great hymns that proclaim the truths of Scripture. But we certainly look to inject newer hymns and more contemporary-sounding worship songs at times into our services, that also proclaim the truths of Scripture in a beautiful way and which help to keep things fresh. Our services are meant to focus us on the the message of the gospel in word and sacrament, and the goal of the sermon is always: 1) to show us our sinfulness and need for a Savior, 2) to focus us on and remind us of the phenomenal love that Christ demonstrated for us as he paid for our sins on the cross to win our forgiveness and salvation, and 3) to help us think about how to apply God's word to our daily lives, that we may live for him and give him glory!

What is the community like?
Our community is a mixture of generations. Iron Mountain and Kingsford are good, American blue-collar types of towns, with friendly people and a welcoming atmosphere. There is also tons of natural beauty all around us, and if you're a fan of the outdoors, you would be quite happy in this area! Overall, our community could be classified as family-friendly, peaceful, and down to earth.

What if I'm not a Christian?
If you're not a Christian, that gives us even more cause to welcome you in with open arms! We'd very much like to teach you about our Christian faith, and specifically, what Jesus Christ has done to rescue us from sin and hell!

Greetings: Brother and Sisters in Christ WWW.Snr-Saints.com I humbly ask that you view a new PRAYER WEBSITE geared towards families and Seniors. CRIME and DISCORD in America are at an all-time HIGH…We need your PRAYERS!! My career has been in Law enforcement for a little over 50 years. Over my career, I worked for a large metropolitan police force, and 3 ½ years for a CPS State agency, and a large school district in Texas. Working with children has been a life-long calling and I have been a mentor, teacher, consultant. I also received the calling of an Evangelist 35 years ago. It was with a heavy heart for the children that God instructed me to create the website. At the home they disrespected their parents, at school there is a disrespect for the teachers that get verbally and physically assaulted, and on the streets, they disrespect law enforcement, and the government. Please encourage your seniors and congregation to visit the site and to PRAY! We face a killer virus, children being killed, young adults and adults across the country in chaos. It seems that an all-out spiritual warfare has begun. Turning the tide will require prayer. Thank you for your help and prayers. In Christ, Ray Frausto, Evangelist Ph# 941-587-3463

I have been attending Mount Olive Lutheran church for over a year and I am growing in Christ. I love pastor and his family and consider them my spiritual family and friends, as well as the other members. I recently became a member and am wanting to serve in the Lord's house as he leads me.
