• Carrie and Torin Eikler

Carrie and Torin Eikler joined the Morgantown Church of the Brethren family in May, 2007 and are ordained ministers in the Church of the Brethren. Trained at Bethany Theological Seminary in Richmond, Indiana, Carrie and Torin hold Masters of Divinity degrees, both graduating with distinction shortly before their installment at MCOB. Believing that faith is to be lived out in the world around them, Carrie and Torin have served through volunteer work in Brethren Volunteer Service with various peace groups and human service programs; while at seminary they managed a food cooperative, incorporating their love of people with their love of good food. Their quest to engage the world has given them the desire to travel, as well as the desire to find God in the beauty of their garden. Walking, biking, playing ultimate Frisbee and soccer, foreign and independent films, cooking, and “leisure” reading (science fiction and fantasy for Torin, British mysteries for Carrie) are all important elements of their lives. They seek to integrate heart and mind into their ministry and spirituality. As co-pastors, they have time to “co-parent” their sons Sebastian, Alistair, and Patrick. We invite you to get to know Carrie, Torin, Sebastian and Alistair better: during worship at church, over a bowl of soup and fresh bread at their house, at a soccer match, or by taking a walk together.
