Mark Forrest

Brought up in an unchurched family in New Orleans, LA. As a teenager we moved to Shreveport, LA after my parents divorced and a group of students I rode the bus with invited me to youth events and eventually shared the Gospel with me. I was saved on November 8, 1980. I went on to college majoring in Finance believing I could make it as a stock broker, but after 4 years of being involved in the Baptist Student Ministry, I sensed a call to full time ministry. I then went to Southwestern Seminary in Ft. worth, TX. I then married my college sweetheart and after seminary, we left with our six month old daughter to serve in Malawi, Africa as missionaries for two years. After we returned home, I went back to Southwestern to work on my doctorate and began pastoring. I have pastored three wonderful churches in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and have learned so much about ministry. We now have 6 children and they all enjoy being a support in my role as pastor at Lakeside.
