  • Ally Lee

    Ally Lee
    Director of Children's Ministries, Adult Education, and Connections

    Ally has worked at Knox since June 2010 and is excited to share in the work of community building through ministries of compassion and hospitality. She attended Samford University and Beeson Divinity School in Birmingham, Alabama before moving to Pasadena to attend Fuller Theological Seminary in 2009. Ally graduated with a MDiv. and Certificate in Marriage and Family Studies in 2013. Ally enjoys traveling and cooking with her husband Brian.

    Davin Tang
    Director of Youth Ministries

    Davin has been serving in various capacities with the youth at Knox since 2012 when he moved to Pasadena to attend Fuller Theological Seminary. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies from Palm Beach Atlantic University and a Masters of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary. With almost a decade of experience in youth ministry, Davin is passionate about helping youth develop a lasting faith in Jesus Christ. Davin enjoys playing sports, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

  • Sarah  Ilger

    Sarah Ilger
    Office Manager and Director of Worship Arts

    Sarah has worked at Knox Presbyterian as the Office Manager since September 2014 as the Office Manager. In August 2015, she transitioned to the new role of Office Manager and Director of Worship Arts. Sarah attended Cal State University Northridge and Hillsong International Leadership College in Sydney, Australia where she focused her studies on Worship Arts, majoring in vocal studies. Sarah was the Worship & Creative Arts Director of Hope Chapel of the Valley Foursquare Church in Winnetka, for the past 10 years. She also worked as the Church Administrator for Hope Chapel from 2010- August of 2014. During these 10 years, Sarah wrote and produced an original worship album and performed throughout Los Angeles for Conferences, Seminars, and other events.   • Hye Jung Shin
    Organist

    Born and raised in (incheon) Korea, Hyejung Shin began studying the piano at age seven. After completing her studies majoring in Piano Performance, Ms. Shin received a full scholarship from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, and came to the United States where she earned her MM degree in Collaborative Piano. As a recipient of the Lynette Gutner Memorial Fellowship, Ms. Shin recently performed and studied at the Aspen Music Festival as a student of Prof. Rita Sloan. Passionate about chamber music, Ms. Shin now resides in Southern California studying as a Collaborative pianist as student of Dr. Alan Smith at the Thornton School of Music at USC. Apart from her studies, Ms Shin enjoys spending time with friends and participating in various activities including cooking, reading, and singing. Ms. Shin is an organist at Knox Presbyterian Church and loves worshipping God.

  • Josh Munnell

    Josh Munnell
    Office Assistant

    With Sarah taking on the position of Director of Worship Arts, we have added the position of 12 hour a week Office Assistant. Josh Munnell has now stepped into the Knox Staff team to fill this role. Josh is a recent graduate of Azusa Pacific University with a degree in Music Business. Though he has been in the Los Angeles area for five years, Josh is originally from Hastings, Nebraska. He has been very involved in several churches for over ten years in various ministries and roles. In addition to serving as Knox’s office assistant, Josh works as a freelance singer, private voice teacher, and vocal coach. Josh also enjoys photography, traveling and spending some quality time with friends and family.

  • Matt  Colwell

    Matt Colwell
    Pastor

    Matthew Colwell became pastor of Knox Presbyterian Church in October of 2007, and currently lives in Altadena with his wife Jill and their daughter Lucia. Before coming to Knox, Matthew served as the Associate Pastor for Christian Education and Family Life at the First Presbyterian Church of Greenwich. He has taught classes for Fuller Theological Seminary and San Francisco Theological Seminary, and has spoken around the country on topics such as spiritual practices, Sabbath economics, immigration, and church revitalization. He is the co-author (with Ched Myers) of Our God is Undocumented: Biblical Faith and Immigrant Justice and the author of Sabbath Economics: Household Practices. He holds a B.A. from Williams College, an M.Div. from Fuller, and a D.Min. from SFTS. In addition to serving as a pastor, Matthew has worked as an ASE Master automobile mechanic, and as a program partner for Bartimaeus Cooperative Ministries. In his free time he loves fly fishing, playing the piano, reading a good work of fiction, and playing board games or watching movies with his wife and daughter.
