    Rev. Dr. Lenton Rhodes

    The Rev. Dr. Lenton D. Rhodes is the youngest of four children born to the late Herman and Pauline Rhodes in Comfort, NC. He received his primary and secondary education at Jones High School, Trenton, NC. He began his undergraduate matriculation at Winston Salem State University but subsequently transferred to Livingstone College, Salisbury, NC, where he received his BS degree in Business Administration. Pastor Rhodes continued his education at the Hood Theological Seminary, Salisbury, NC, where he received both his Master of Divinity and his Doctor of Ministry degree. After much conviction, Pastor Rhodes heeded and answered the call into the preaching ministry, preaching his trial sermon in 1985. Under the Episcopal leadership of Bishop William Milton Smith he later received his Deacon’s Orders (1986), and his Elder’s Orders (1988). Pastor Rhodes served five churches in the Western North Carolina Conference of the Piedmont Episcopal District, receiving his first appointment in 1989. He have received awards and recognition on local, district and conference level, and was the senior pastor on the Statesville District when Bishop Roy A. Holmes invited him to come and join the Louisville District as the pastor of Hughlett Temple A.M.E. Zion Church.. Pastor Rhodes is married to the former Ms. Pamela Undra Hauser of Tobaccoville, NC, and they are the proud parents of two wonderful daughters; Teri Rhodes Taylor, and Teagan A. Rhodes. They are the very proud grandparent of one grandson, Cameron T. Taylor who brings so much joy. Only God can put together such a family to support such a ministry, to Him belong all Honor and Praise!
