Gateway Church of the Nazarene

About Us

The mission of the Church of the Nazarene is to make Christlike disciples in the nations.

We are commissioned to take the Good News of life in Jesus Christ to people everywhere and to spread the message of scriptural holiness (Christlike living) across the lands.

We share in Christian fellowship and seek to strengthen each other in faith development through worship, preaching, training, and service to others.

We strive to express the compassion of Jesus Christ to all persons along with our personal commitment to Christlike living.

Leadership

Glenda Fields

Glenda Fields
Pastor

Pastor Glenda is married to Londell and between the two they have 15 children and 20 grandchildren. Glenda received her first Local Minister's License at Grace in September 2010 and began taking online classes with Nazarene Bible College in January 2011. She graduated with an Associates in Church Ministry and a Bachelor's in Pastoral Ministries in May 2019. Pastor Glenda was part of the ministry of Grace Church of the Nazarene until 2016 when Glenda was called to a higher office, Pastor of Gateway Church of the Nazarene. In May 2017 Gateway Church of the Nazarene, an in-home church plant on the Northeast side of Detroit, MI was planted. Gateway was first known as the Haverhill Street Church Without Walls Ministry. That is still the mission today at Gateway Church. God has blessed Pastor Glenda and the Gateway Community abundantly. She is connecting with neighbors and people in the community and connecting people to Christ by doing good things in the community. One of those good things is the Gateway Community Garden. The Gateway Community Garden was started in 2017 as a beautification project. That changed and became a way to create a sustainable landscape with fruit trees, annual and perennial flowers, vegetables, and berries. The Gateway Community Garden welcomes those in the community and members of Gateway to come and participate in the garden's growth, and they are welcome to glean from the gardens produce.
