My previous message which stated Wolfpoint was incorrect. It was supposed to say, Fort Peck.
I am reaching out to let you know that this congregation let down a very good friend of mine. She visited your church a while ago, I can’t tell you exactly when. She is going through a very difficult time with her husband, having to be placed in the nursing home in Glasgow. She has a home in Big Sandy And a Home in Glasgow. She was looking for a church home.
When she visited your church, she said that no one talked to her except the Pastor, who just said hi.
I am good friends with her and I told her that I couldn’t believe an ELCA congregation wouldn’t embrace her with open arms when she came in the door. You state that all are welcome, but you have to make them feel welcome. I told her that I would contact you and let you know Her perception of her visit. She is in need of support and was trying to reach out.
I am a member of an ELCA congregation in Minnesota and my husband is a retired past. I don’t know that I could talk her into trying to attend again, but I thought I would let you know her perception so perhaps things could change.
Sincerely, in Christ,
Laura McCaughan
