About Us

A Christ centered, Bible teaching Church

We exist to fulfill the Great Commission, and live the Great Commandment while providing an environment for spiritual growth, fellowship, and worship. The entire population of our community is smaller than many church congregations, however we provide for ministry to all ages. All ages are represented in First Baptist Church of Ekalaka, Montana. Many would call us traditional. We would rather think that we have resisted the encroachment of the world on the church. You will find that we are relevant in the contemporary world in which we live.

What to Expect

What are services like?
Most would call us traditional. We sing hymns, and contemporary hymn style songs. Each service includes special music from those with musical talent, often in a gospel or country style. Central to the service is a expository Bible message. Pastor Steve seeks to present a literal understanding of the scriptures in harmony with the intent of the divine authorship. We seek to make every service "Christ centered" rather than "man centered". We believe that if Christ is first honored man will be nurtured.

What is the community like?
You will find a family atmosphere where everyone is loved warts and all. Dress is casual, but neat. Jeans are common among the men though you might see a couple of neckties. Skirts and pants are the norm for the ladies. Basically, we reflect the Montana cowboy culture we live in. Bring your Bible because we use it. Expect to join us for a potluck Dinner the first Sunday of every month. If you don't bring a pot you are not out of luck. There is always plenty!

What if I'm not a Christian?
If you are not a Christian you are welcome to come to FBC. Our goal is to lead you into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, because in Him alone is eternal life. You will not be singled out as a non-christian, but loved with the love of the Christ who died for you.
