G. Oliver Barnes

Reverend Dr. G. Oliver Barnes is not just a gifted speaker and preacher, he is also the Founder and Pastor of Faith Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church located in Sunrise, Florida. He believed that no great city could survive without a solid church that produced great people. Its result would be safe and secure communities where families could grow, businesses flourish, and schools succeed. Prior to his pastorate, Dr. Barnes attended Caribbean Bible College in Kingston, Jamaica at the age of eighteen. He eventually migrated to the United States of America and settled in Miami, Florida where he began evangelizing. Subsequently, he established the “Apostolic Faith United Pentecostal Church,” which is currently known as Faith Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church. Dr. Barnes holds a Doctorate in Theocentric Christian Psychology and Family Counseling from Genesis Institute of Theology & Leadership, as well as a certificate in Crisis Intervention from the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Criminal Mental Health Project. He has been a Chaplin with the Miramar Police Department for the past five years and continues to serve the community through his ministry where he officiates baby dedications, weddings, funerals, and other community events at no cost. Currently, Dr. Barnes resides in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with his wife and ministry partner, Sonia. They are the proud parents of three children and have six beautiful grandchildren.
