    Scott Hagan

Scott grew up in a United Methodist family in Statesboro, Georgia. His dad is a college professor at Mercer University’s Medical School, and his mom is a CPA who works for the South Georgia Conference of the UMC. After high school, he went on to graduate from Georgia Tech and a couple of years later met Julie, who had attended the University of Georgia. We can all imagine what their home is like during college football season! They were married at her home church in Roswell, GA, and have two boys, Sam and Jack. Scott spent seven years working as a manager at almost every level of organized basketball; from high school, to college, to the Atlanta Hawks, and even a summer with the USA Olympic Team, before coaching college basketball for two seasons. Scott answered the call to ministry and started working as a Youth Minister at Fayetteville First UMC while attending seminary at Emory's Candler School of Theology. He was ordained as an elder in 2006. He served as an Associate Minister at Albany First UMC for four years, and then the churches in Waverly Hall and Ellerslie for three years, before being appointed to Epworth in June, 2010.
