What are services like?
Worship at Emanuel is a traditionally structured Lutheran worship service, with excellent musical leadership. Worship materials are projected at the front of the church, so you won’t need to fumble through a bulletin to keep up with the service (though we do have them available if you prefer). Our typical service lasts around an hour, but if there are special events, like baptisms or important milestones, you may be blessed with a service that is a little longer. We celebrate open communion every Sunday.
Our church building is handicap accessible. There are handicap parking spots in the parking lot directly to the south of the building with easy access to the building, and there is also a ramped entrance on the north side, for access from the parking lot there.
What is the community like?
Emanuel Lutheran is a lively church, located in the town of Strawberry Point, IA. We are a multi-generational congregation filled with talented musicians and energetic leaders. Emanuel is part of the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America), a church focused on God’s love, grace, and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. If you are in the area, we’d love for you to come join us, whether it’s just for a Sunday, or if you’re looking for a church home.
What if I'm not a Christian?
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God— not the result of works, so that no one may boast.”
— EPHESIANS 2:8-9 (NRSV)
