Jeffrey Eaton

Jeffrey Eaton has been Emanuel’s pastor since 1987. Before coming to Emanuel, he was chaplain and professor of religion at Hamilton College in Clinton, New York. He is a published scholar and approaches the preaching of sermons as a teacher, believing that it is important for Christians to understand what it is that they believe. He teaches the Adult Forum for most of the Sundays of the academic year, exploring a variety of topics that have to do with both church and society. His Ph.D. is in the field of philosophy. Jeff enjoys surfing when he is not at church. He is married to Sharon and has a married daughter, Juliane Eaton-Mercado.
