DISCOVERY BIBLE FELLOWSHIP

Many years ago when I was on my way to Canada , I was on the highway hitch hiking late at night. My last ride dropped me off at the intersection across from the church. I was hungry and tired from being on the road fi several days, penniless and no place to stay. I saw a light on at a house behind the church. I decided to cross the highway and seek help. As it turned out it was the parsonage. I knocked on the door, the hour was late, yet a man open the door and enquired why I was at his door so late in the evening. I briefly explained who I was and what my situation was. His wife came to the door a few minutes later. They invited me in and prepared a meal for me. I had not eaten bin several days. I was most grateful. We talked after I had finished. They wanted to know where I was staying for the night. I told them I had no place to stay and was preparing to go to the highway to catch another ride going North. They told me they would have invited me to stay, however their daughter was home from college this weekend. At this point I became aware that the gentleman was none other than the pastor Waldo Weibi and his wife June. Pastor weibi offered to take me into Collinsville to stay at the local hotel. When we arrived he extended an invitation to attend services the next morning then have dinner with the family. While attending service the alter call was given ,at that moment I walked to the front knelt down and accepted Jesus Christ into my heart and life. That night I was able to stay at the parsonage during my sleep I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. One knock on the door turned out to become many years of service to the church and community. This was in September of 1971. Praise God for June and pastor Weibi of the many unselfish years of service to Collinsville and to a stranger just passing through.
