    Pastor

    Pastor Mark Stirdivant was born and raised in Hemet, California. His father worked in the shoe business and his mother came from a pastor/missionary family. He attended Concordia University Irvine, California, and attended Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Indiana. He sang and toured with the Seminary men's choir, the Kantorei. He served his year of vicarage at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Norwalk, Connecticut, under the tutelage of Rev. Robert Beinke. After a long-distance courtship and engagement, he and Krika (formerly Newman) were married on August 5, 2000. In 2002, Pastor Stirdivant was ordained into the Office of the Holy Ministry and installed at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Kansas City, Missouri. In 2017, he answered God's call to serve Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Yucaipa, California, so he and Krika moved their home across the country. Shortly after arriving in California, they realized that their son Turner had come along, and made his public debut on October 23, 2017. He was baptized at Good Shepherd on November 12. Once again, the Call of our Savior came to Pastor Stirdivant to serve in another corner of the harvest field, and once again the family of three and their Boston Terrier, Poppy, will have enjoyed the experience of moving across the country. They are excited about living in Saint Augustine and working with their new church family. Rev. Mark Stirdivant was installed as Pastor of Christ Our Savior Ev. Lutheran Church on Sunday, 22 May 2022. He conducted his first Bible class and Sunday service on 29 May 2022.
