Myke Templeton was born and raised in Tornado, West Virginia. He worked his way through Cincinnati Christian University selling shoes, worked as a brakeman for C&O/B&O Railroad, and worked in trucking for Union Carbide. He earned his masters degree in Christian Ministry from Trinity College. Myke married his wife Kathy in 1972. They have three children and five grandchildren. Myke has been teaching and pastoring since 1972. He planted Eastland Christian Church in Lexington, Kentucky and has ministered in Owensboro since 1979, first as pastor of Owensboro Christian Church and since 2008 as pastor of Christ Community Church. A guiding principle for Myke in his ministry is the belief that "without a purpose and a cause, life looses it's bounce". He says, “People need fresh starts and new beginnings. Only a personal relationship with Jesus Christ makes that possible.” The Bible is the foundation for Myke's preaching and teaching. He seeks to help people become believers and grow as disciples of Jesus Christ, and to be involved in worship, ministry and mission to the community and world.
