What people say about Sheridan Road Baptist Church

It must have been in 1954, at the age of ten, that I went down to the alter and was saved under Dr J Frank Davis, the pastor.

In the mid 50’s, my dad (Doyle Edward Simpson/ Pete),was a deacon at Sheridan Rd Baptist church. Back in those days, the deacons might be standing out a side door smoking then when it was time for services they’d pass around the little red packet of Sen-Sen ( like today's tick-tack.)
I remember brother Davis. I was saved and Baptized there. I was very young but remember how good a preacher he was and you for sure did not fall asleep during his sermons. He could wake you up in a heart beat. I remember a young lady who played piano and may have been Bro. Davis’ daughter or kin but I think her name was Marlene and she was so pretty. I think her husband maybe played trumpet occasionally. Great memories -
