• I attended the "old church" until I was 11 years old and my family moved. I was baptized there. It was an amazing time. Dan had such a charisma -I was always in awe. I loved listening to Mike play the drums and would make drawings of him as well as watching him play high school football. I remember the elaborite plays and Terri's wedding. Juanita Smith did childrens church. I have a great legacy and still have some of Dan's tapes with the best teaching I heard to this day. He would rib Bonnie about her hair (once she had it braided like a birdcage). I loved her playing. The Treble Tones and Homer Baer were a treat as well as Dale McCoy and the youth choir (Wrapped up-tied-up-tangled all up in Jesus). I still have Dan's record with the song "How far is it to hell". We missed that churvh and Mom would call Dan now and then to stay in touch. It was a precious time with precious people.

• I'm reading this website and can't help but be very highly moved by the deep history of the church. I'm an executive producer at South African Broadcasting Corporations, part of my work is to tell stories.

  While I was researching another family story I ended up being inspired to do my own family story. I come from a family of Pastors, My late father Pst.John Batala and big brother Pst. Jabu Batala. I remember I have met and spoken with Pst. Daniel Sheaffer through my late father's ministry Assembiles Of God Bhisho South Africa and that church was built by Pst. Dan Sheaffer. I would love to connect with Pastor Mike Sheaffer to see he can come to South Africa after the Pendamic ends for inauguration ceremony that our family is preparing to do in February in memory of our father and his father. I would like to also get his personal email to reconnect and I believe a lot can come out of our connecting and impact the Kingdom of God.
