St. Aidan's Episcopal Church

About Us

Christ's beacon to all seeking God.

St. Aidan's is an open and inclusive member of The Episcopal Church. We welcome all who desire a deeper relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

We are located in the heart of the King's Grant area of Virginia Beach on Edinburgh road between N. Lynnhaven and King's Grant Road.
Over 150 people gather at St. Aidan's each week. Young, old and in between come to praise God and to learn about living a Christian life. A life that truly follows the Biblical imperative to love God and to love your neighbor. We do this in a variety of ways, through worship, fellowship and service to our church community as well as the greater community.

In the Episcopal Church we encourage open and frank discussion about our faith. An old ad campaign said, "We ask that you check your coat at the door, not your brain." I take that very seriously at St. Aidan's. Sermons are not meant to give rigid answers, but to provoke thought and prayer about the role God plays in your life and the life of our community.

Our Services

Sunday
08:15am
A quiet Rite 2 service without music
10:30am
Rite 2 Eucharist with choir

What to Expect

What are services like?
Our service is a traditional Rite 2 Eucharist which means the language is contemporary not Elizabethan English. Our early service is quiet and reflective and our 10:30 features our choirs, both children and adult as well as our bell choir. Children's chapel is provided during the service for grades 3 and under.

What is the community like?
We reflect the King's Grant area and beyond. Many of our members joined initially when they were stationed here during their time in the Navy and most have that connection in some way whether as active duty or in support of the many bases in Hampton Roads.

What if I'm not a Christian?
You are exactly who we are looking for. We do not expect you to check your brain at the door and welcome seekers who desire to know God regardless your background. Many have come here after being hurt by other churches and find healing and a deep spirituality.
