About Us

Gospel Centered | City Focused | Church Community

Missio Dei Church believes the advance of God’s Kingdom comes not through new ways of doing church, but through the ancient way of faithful preaching and contextualizing of the unchanging Gospel for a changing culture. We are a community of believers located in the urban core of Cincinnati, joining Jesus in His mission to redeem the people in our city. Our desire is to see the people of Cincinnati forever changed by the Gospel of Jesus and holding dear to Him as their source of all joy and worth.

What to Expect

What are services like?
At Missio Dei Church we like to think of worship in two ways: gathered, where we gather weekly to learn about Jesus and respond to him together, and scattered, where we spread throughout the greater Cincinnati area to seek God’s glory through the stuff of life. Our gatherings are focused on proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus from the way we greet our community, the way we hear from God, respond in communion, giving, praising, and to the way we are sent out with purpose. We welcome you to come participate as we declare how Jesus has paid in full our debt of sin to God. Knowing that Jesus has truly paid it all for us probably makes us a little more relaxed at Missio. So our worship environment is casual. We will sing some songs, hear a sermon about Jesus and the Bible, take Communion, and say a few prayers. That’s about it! We welcome all people to join with us in our Sunday celebration of Jesus.

What is the community like?
The church is the collective of mature Christians, new Christians, and non-Christians in messy pursuit of meaning, beauty, etc. Jesus is the central person and His Gospel is the central tenet. Mission groups are designed to explore the implications of the Gospel for all of life to get a clearer view of Jesus and ourselves. In our Mission Groups, we seek to develop four aspects in a believer’s life. 1. To be a Family 2. To be a Learner 3. To be a Worshiper & 4. To be a Servant Neighbor. Mission Groups are an intregal way to begin living out the gospel and the vision of Missio Dei Church. In short, Mission Groups consist of 8 or more people who meet to share life and encourage each other to become more like Jesus. The more people get involved in their Mission Group, the more they want to make sure others’ needs are met as well, and over time, the Mission Group develops into a tight-knit community of people who look out for each other and encourage each other to be more like Jesus. Mission Groups are an amazing picture of the Gospel of Jesus Christ lived out in real life. At Missio Dei, our group schedule is broken into three 12-week Tri-mesters.

What if I'm not a Christian?
