What to Expect

What are services like?
Sunday Services start with 30-40 minutes of contemporary worship music, which always results in a grace-filled atmosphere. Sometimes, a presentation follows (video, spoken word, skits - any of these are possible). Announcements are made and offering is collected before the sermon begins, which is another 30 minutes. Full service times are about 1.5 hours. Sermons are delivered either from a member of our Pastoral Staff or by a guest speaker. All are encouraged to stop by our Welcome Tent after services for refreshments and fellowship. We also have two prayer services on Wednesdays at 12pm and 7pm. Noon prayer services are for one hour, and the night service includes worship, so it lasts about as long as a Sunday service. Our youth service, better known as MiSFIT NYC, takes place on Friday nights at 8pm. Expect lively music ranging from contemporary praise and worship to hip-hop. Also expect dancing, spoken word performances, DJing, and any other creative outlet youth want to worship the Lord through. MiSFIT NYC fills the sanctuary of Christ Tabernacle with hundreds of students every Friday night ranging from middle school, to high school, to college ages.

What is the community like?
Being a church in New York City, the church community reflects the varied demographics of NYC. Our members are very diverse in ethnicity, age, and in testimony, showing that all people are God's children.

What if I'm not a Christian?
Although all members of Christ Tabernacle are believers of Jesus Christ, those who have not accepted him as their Lord and Savior are welcome to all services. One of the most important acts at Christ Tabernacle is to show the same amount of love Jesus showed to everyone; regardless of belief, appearance, or any other difference among us.
