About Us

North Waseca Lutheran Church was founded in 1858, and continues to remain a vibrant, welcoming church serving people in the communities of Waseca, Waterville, Elysian, Morristown, and beyond. Known as the “Church on the Hill,” North Waseca’s congregation cares deeply about their community, and the friendships they have made with one another.

Today, over 100 families attend North Waseca. Church membership continues to grow, with many new members citing the warm, welcoming atmosphere as a key reason they attend. Other reasons include a focus on children, and the many opportunities to become more involved. North Waseca is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, and remains deeply rooted in the Gospel.

What to Expect

What are services like?
We worship together every Sunday morning at 8:45am, with Holy Communion on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month, and a Service of the Word on the other Sundays. On the 2nd Sunday of every month, we have Young at Heart worship (also 8:45am). Young at Heart is a worship service where the whole liturgy is intentionally intergenerational and designed with families and young people in mind. What is the community like?
Our community is warm, friendly, and caring. We love to laugh here, and while we use a more traditional liturgy we tend to be a little more on the casual side in worship. We love eating together and have meals following our worship fairly often. You will often find folks hanging behind after worship to chat with one another. Children are valued and appreciated in our worship and our life together. All wiggles and noises are not just welcome, but celebrated!

What if I'm not a Christian?
You are welcome here! Whether you're with us for a day, a lifetime, or anything in between, we hope you find some peace and community here. You are welcome and invited to participate in whatever way is comfortable and meaningful to you. Anyone who wishes to receive God's grace and forgiveness is welcome to receive Holy Communion. That's it! There are no other requirements. You don't have to be a certain age or grade; you don’t have to receive official instruction from the church first; you don't have to be a member here; you don't even have to be Lutheran. The only requirement is that you want to be at Christ's Table.
