What to Expect

What are services like?
Zion's worship services generally follow the liturgies in the Lutheran Book of Worship. We sing, speak, stand, sit, kneel, listen, make offerings, and participate in the Holy Communion. If you want to sit back and watch the pastor do everything, you can -- but you will miss most of Christian worship.

What if I'm not a Christian?
You are welcome to attend Zion's services. You may not understand everything that happens, but that is okay. We seek to worship God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as Christians have been doing since the beginning of the Church. What we say, sing, and do reflects what we believe about God, and we recognize that you may not be able to say, sing, and do everything we do. That is fine, too. Follow along in our worship book (the bulletin or someone sitting near you can help), participate as you feel comfortable, and watch the rest. When we celebrate Holy Communion, you may come forward with worshipers near you to receive a blessing from the Pastor. And afterwards, we would be happy to answer your questions.
