About Us

We are a small church in the heart of the Piney Woods of east Texas in a historic town. It doesn't take too many services to figure out that the folks at Westside love The Lord and like to worship Him. The worship is blended with some of the old and some of the newer music to provide a variety for all ages. Pastor Tilmon preaches with an evangelistic style of preaching and gives people an opportunity to respond to the Gospel at the close of each service.

What to Expect

What are services like?
Our services consist of old and newer music with several members making up the band. We pray for each others needs publicly and anoint with oil those that want special prayer and believe with them for an answer from the Lord. You could see some of the congregation with lifted hands as they praise the the Redeemer, some might weep, some might pray out loud (or silently). You could experience a manifestation of the Holy Spirit through the gifts listed in 1 Corinthians 12 or you could hear someone speak in other tongues as the Spirit gives them the utterance (Acts 2:4). Pastor Tilmon preaches the Gospel with the goal of helping someone respond to the Gospel call and accept Jesus as personal Savior. An invitation will be given to give all an opportunity to answer God's call.

What if I'm not a Christian?
1. You can accept Jesus as your personal Savior. 2. Believe on Him and you will be saved. 3. Confess your sins to Him with your mouth and 4. Repent of those sins (turn from them). 5. Get involved in worship services and the family of God. 6. Help others know Jesus and get ready for His coming.
