What people say about West End Presbyterian Church
-
My grandfather (Albert Dockter) had been pastor during WW2 (perhaps just before Rev Garland) and married my parents there (my dad was a deacon and married the preacher's daughter). When I retired, my wife and I drove up the Hudson Valley on vacation from California. The church was changing hands; a community church was moving in, no longer Presby. I wondered what would become of the magnificent windows and organ. Sadly, another dying church in America. Hope God has plans to rejuvenate and rock the roof!

My father, Rev. S.G.Garland, was minister of this church 1949 to 1954...at that time, there was a large congregation....some years ago, when I went in, photos of previous ministers going back a long time were displayed on wall at the rear of the sanctuary...my father's photo was included. I was an active member, but I entered military service in 1951 and was out of the area from that time...it is doubtful that there are any members now who would remember me or my family.
