    Steve Watson

Steve Watson joined the staff of the Greater Boston Vineyard as its senior pastor in July, 2013. Prior to that, he served as the headmaster of Watertown High School, a middle and high school English teacher in the Boston Public Schools and a campus staff minister with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. In all of his endeavors, Steve has maintained great passion for teaching, coaching and mentoring, organizational and community development, and really good chocolate. Steve attended Brandeis University, where he graduated with a B.A. in music, and has immersed himself in graduate as well as self-directed studies in secondary English education, educational leadership, Bible, theology, and ministry – some of which have resulted in completed programs. Born and raised in Eastern Massachusetts, Steve has travelled extensively but has never left the Charles River, the Red Sox, or many favorite local haunts due to his family’s and his wife’s local roots and his great affection for (almost) all things New England. Steve and his wife Grace (Director of the Next Steps Program in Brookline) joined this church as members in 2006 and have loved this community’s accessibility, authenticity, and vibrant connection with a living God. When not at the church, they and their three children – Julianna, Zeke, and John – enjoy all manner of family adventures big and small together. Steve’s especially excited about helping to continue to make our church a happy home for an extraordinarily diverse community of church newcomers and long-time church goers. He is eager to fulfill what he sees as our church’s unique promise, to continue to find ways to engage the residents of Cambridge and surrounding communities with programs and relationships that help empower impossibly great lives.
