Vieux Carre Baptist Church

What are services like?
They have been described as very personal by a couple who thought they were attending mass. LOL We aren't locked into a programmed way of doing things although we have many of the same elements the church has had for years. We spend time listening to each other and finding out what has happened during our week. We pray and ask God to get us ready for what ever He has for our lives. We worship, we recite, we sing, we interact, we look intently at the word and ask the Holy Spirit to bring us closer to Him. We don't get feelings have more control than our obedience to the word.

What is the community like?
There has never been a more diverse crowd than the Vieux. You have to believe what the word says that here are only two types of people in Christ and not yet in Christ. We have people from 60+ to 20 somethings. We only have a couple children as of now. We have retired folks, career people and folks in between without an address. Everyone is welcome. We met Tag who was sleeping outside on the curb, when he woke he came to service and stayed for lunch. He has since attended our Wednesday night bible study and stopped by for prayer.

What if I'm not a Christian?
We don't expect you to know Chrsitianese and you won't feel as you ought to with us. No awkward situations for visitors. We will explain the Word of God in language that's easy to understand. When you are ready we will be available to answer questions and spend time talking about Gods desire to have a relationship with you. We will continue inviting you closer into our family as we get to know each other.
