What people say about Valley View Wesleyan Church

  • I remember when the foundation of the church was first constructed and there was reinforcement of laid steal bar for the pouring of the concrete congregational floor. No exact alter existed but only an incomplete wooden framed stage with no steps. Gravel filled the squares of steal mesh. I knelt where I believed the alter would go and prayed for the movement of the church. Past warriors of prayer, Mr. and Mrs. Obencahin praying at the alter for a loss son who did return to faith in God and the Lord Jesus Christ after his parents had died. Mary Kid who had a great heart and love for the teenagers. Granny Wade, who at 104, blind would stand and call out to God taking up the whole time of church, praying, testifying, and glorifying God. Howard, the janitor, who never once let the opportunity pass to testify of the glory of God and what God would do for any one who would believe and trust in Him. Gerry Nelson, a godly mother to so many thrown away abused children, a role model for young adult women. Then there is Doris Powers, who with Pastor Powers faithfully came on Prayer night to pray for the church and reached out to the young adults, be it music , learning how to sew, or just some one who will listen without judgement but with sound wisdom. So much prayer and testimony within the walls of the church that still stand today. People who love God. People who worship God. People who are the legacy of the church and the fulfillment of God's presence. Valley View Wesleyan Church will always have a special place in my heart.
