About Us

Loving God. Loving Neighbor

At the United Methodist Church of Geneva, we open our hearts, minds and doors to all. All are welcome and invited to fully participate in the worship life as a response to God’s call for us to worship.

Through worship, we encounter the love of God through Word, Sacrament, Music, Confession, Praise, Thanksgiving, and Community. We are nourished, challenged, and commissioned to embody the love of God outside the walls of the church to our neighbors near and far, stranger and friend.

What to Expect

What are services like?
We have three distinct worship services on Sunday mornings: 8:00am: An intimate, traditional worship service with pipe organ, verbal sharing of prayer concerns and occasional special music. 9:00am: A traditional worship service with pipe organ, Words for Children and Chancel Choir. Children & Youth Sunday school is held during this worship service. 10:45am: i-Witness worship is a non-traditional, inter-generational, interactive, conversational, multi-sensory and musically diverse emerging worship service. Children’s Sunday school (Godly Play) for age 3 years through 2nd grade is offered during worship. 3rd graders and older are encouraged to worship with us.

What is the community like?
We are demographically diverse: Families with young children, empty nesters and retirees. We are also theologically diverse and have been blessed with pastors and leadership who welcome the questions and conversations that arise from varying understanding and perspectives.

What if I'm not a Christian?
At the UMC of Geneva we practice Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors. We practice an open table for communion. We consider holy communion to be a means of grace. All are welcome, regardless of age or understanding. All that is asked is do you want to share a table where Jesus Christ is host.
