Our Services

What are services like?
The Saturday evening service is very casual (little standing) and has people of all ages but mostly older adults. The Sunday, 8:30 a.m. service is a more formal liturgical worship service focused upon the Lutheran hymnal. The Sunday, 11:00 a.m. (10:30 a.m. in summer) service is a celebration and praise service with guitar, drums, and keyboard and uses contemporary Christian music. People tend to dress casually.

What is the community like?
Oak Lawn is a southside near-suburb of Chicago of about 65,000. The area of 97th and Brandt is two blocks south and two blocks west of the major avenues of 95th street and Cicero, 15 minutes south of Midway Airport. The Trinity community includes people of all ages with both a strong children's, youth, and family focus as well as having ministries for older adults. People are friendly and very open to visitors. Trinity is a wonderful place to experience God within a historic, neighborhood church.

What if I'm not a Christian?
Non-Christians are more than welcomed to experience the Christian faith at Trinity. A non-Christian may be more comfortable at the Sunday, 11:00 a.m. service, but are welcomed at all worship services. Introduce yourself to the pastor and let him know what you think. He will enjoy knowing and meeting you.
