About Us

Offering companionship along the Way

We're an Episcopal parish located in the Northwest Corner of Connecticut that is in the process of growing out of the "small" category. We have more going on here than you'll find at churches twice our size -- or larger. Our parishioners come from Connecticut, New York, and Massachusetts and our visitors come from all over the world -- sometimes when visiting Lime Rock Park, the auto race course right across the street, or the area's many boarding schools and sports and cultural venues. We're especially proud of our young people, our music, our service to the community, and in joyously trying new things.

What to Expect

What are services like?
Our services follow the Book of Common Prayer of The Episcopal Church. On Sundays, our 8 AM Holy Eucharist is according to Rite I, our Sunday School (sports program for the kids in summer) convenes at 10:15 AM in the chapel, and our 10:30 AM Holy Eucharist is according to Rite II, with choir (year-round) and organ. Check our website for lots more information about our worship!

What is the community like?
We're multi-generational and multi-cultural. Our parishioners come from many religious traditions and all walks of life, and many drive some distance to get here. Our founder built Trinity Lime Rock with the understanding that workers in his mines and foundries would be every bit as welcome here as Senators and Presidents -- and we've never wavered from that. We're not afraid to try new things. Whether it's a new way to serve our larger community, or a musical discovery (our music director is a recognized Early Music expert), or a new program for the kids (the middle school of our Sunday School recently conceived, wrote and acted a video based on two Bible stories they had selected, and will be doing a follow-up in the spring on prayer in various world religions), expect surprises at Trinity. Yet we value tradition, too. This December will mark our 70th Christmas Pageant. Our Rector chants portions of the Holy Eucharist, and our choir presents rarities from the Renaissance and Baroque periods. We know our history, and we cherish it.

What if I'm not a Christian?
You are very welcome here. Our motto "Offering companionship along the Way" recognizes that we all follow our own individual paths of spiritual growth and development, and that we all can learn from the religious experiences of others. "Deeds before creeds" is a favorite expression of our Senior Warden!

Y'all are the only church in the United States of America to not support your local business and neighbor. Faith and Auto racing are always going to be partners and you should respect God's wishes for getting along with our fellow Americans.
