About Us

Traditional Worship, Contemporary Ideas.

Trinity Cathedral plays a vital role in the heart and life of Phoenix as the Cathedral church for the Episcopal Diocese of Arizona. The Cathedral seeks to be a place where all people can encounter the living God, the reconciling Gospel of Jesus Christ and the transformative power of the Holy Spirit.

Life, worship, ministry and the miraculous work of God are intertwined here. Our calling is to live our faith daily as people of God and to seek justice and love in our encounters in the world.

Everyone is welcome and loved. Our faith family includes people of all ages, interests, language and points of view from every corner of the Valley. We invite you to join us for services, attend Christian education for children and adults and walk with us in service and outreach to the wider community.

Trinity Cathedral is a well-known and vibrant art and cultural presence in the greater Phoenix area. You will find an array of offerings by the Music At Trinity program and Visual Arts Ministry. First Friday events at the Cathedral are lively and always interesting.

Visit our historic church, walk the labyrinth, sit and enjoy the beautiful windows. Trinity Cathedral invites to make a home with us.

God’s blessings and peace be with you!

What to Expect

What are services like?
What are services like? Trinity Cathedral is the gathering church of all Episcopal churches in Arizona. The Episcopal Church finds its source in the most ancient Christian communities, dating all the way back to the time of Jesus. As Christianity developed over the centuries, English Christians from the Church of England brought their traditions of Christianity to North America. This group of Christians eventually formed a community called The Episcopal Church. Our Worship is at the center of our lives and forms the anchor for our prayer, study and outreach - in short it represents the core from which all other daily activities flow. The way we worship takes us on a journey of faith and invites us to encounter Christ and his Divine Love. Our worship reveals a way for us to see God's grace and hope in the world. As a cathedral, we seek to have our worship services be as soaring and expansive as the space in which they are offered. Over the years, our forms of worship have included both traditional and contemporary expressions, and range from choral worship to services conducted in the simplest of ways. As a church community, we embrace a variety of expressions of worship and wish to explore greater musical diversity, honoring traditions without being bound to them. We seek excellence in all that we do so that we may live in the spirit of “soli deo gloria” — to God be the glory!

What is the community like?
Trinity Cathedral is a center of community life for many diverse groups in Phoenix. The Phoenix Chorale, one of the finest choral ensembles in the United States, has earned a worldwide reputation for their rich sound, precise singing, and inspiring performances. Their administrative offices are located in the Cathedral complex, and the Cathedral is their home performing venue. Other groups like the Orpheus Male Chorus of Phoenix and Cantemus both rehearse at the Cathedral on a weekly basis during their regular season. The Cathedral opens its doors to a wide variety of community nonprofit organizations and government agencies, like Valley Interfaith Project, Interfaith Worker Justice, two 12-step groups, and Maricopa County Air Quality Department, among others. Look through the menus on the left for schedules of upcoming events, and don't hesitate to call our office - we'll be happy to tell you more!
