What are services like?
Whether you’ve attended church your whole life or never stepped foot in one before, we know it’s not easy visiting a church for the first time. Where do I go? Where should I park? How should I dress? How long does it last? What about my kids?
We want your first experience at The Journey to be relaxed, and for you and your family to enjoy the service. So, here is some information to help you know what to expect.
WHAT SHOULD I DO WHEN I GET THERE?
welcome-teardropWhen you arrive, our friendly Parking Team will help direct you to an open spot. If you have children ages birth through 5th grade, then just follow the signs and the bubbles to our Journey Kidz check-in area to the left of the main theater entrance.
You will receive a program and a pen on your way into the service. This program will include message notes, important information, and a connection card, which you will turn in at the end of the service.
And on your way in, if you have questions, just look for one of our courteous volunteers in a Journey t-shirt. They’re easy to spot and always happy to help!
HOW SHOULD I DRESS?
We care more about you than with what you wear, so the dress is always casual. At The Journey, you will find many people wearing shorts and sandals. Dress how you are most comfortable, and you will fit right in – shorts and suits are equally welcomed.
WHAT ARE THE MESSAGES LIKE?
Our goal every Sunday is to teach the timeless truths of the Bible in a way that is engaging and applicable to your life. You will find that the messages are practical, easy to understand, and grounded in Scripture. Learn more at www.bocajourney.com/podcast
WHAT ABOUT THE MUSIC?
The music at The Journey is always rockin’! The Journey features a live band with electric guitar, bass, keyboard, and drums every week.
WHAT’S AVAILABLE FOR MY KIDS?
JaKe-JourneyKidzLionThe Journey offers a safe and exciting children’s program during the worship service for your children, birth to 5th grade.
As you approach the service, you will see our Journey Kidz check-in area just to the left of the main theater (just follow the signs and the bubbles!). There you will meet one of our fully-trained and background-checked Journey Kidz Team members who will help you check your child in.
During check-in, you will receive a receipt sticker, which you will need to pick up your child after the service. For the security of your children, it is important that you keep track of your receipt sticker. This helps us know that you are the person authorized to pick up your child.
kidsJourney Kidz is staffed solely by members in good standing at The Journey, who have been background checked and receive ongoing training to make your children’s experience the best it can be!
During Journey Kidz, your children will experience fun Bible lessons, activities and games to help them build a spiritual foundation. Simply stated: we want this to be the best hour of your child’s week!
WHAT’S AVAILABLE DURING THE WEEK?
During the week, The Journey meets as Growth Groups at convenient locations throughout South Palm Beach and Broward counties. Growth Groups are groups of 15 or so people who meet together to study the Bible, grow spiritually, meet new people, and have fun. Learn more at www.bocajourney.com/growth
What is the community like?
The Journey is a warm and welcoming church family! Our church is diverse with singles and families, multiple generations, and people from all walks of life and backgrounds.
We are not perfect... but we're on a journey of loving God and becoming more like him, and loving people and making a difference in our community for Christ.
You will find a biblically-based, fun and engaging ministry for children, relevant messages for your life, Growth Groups where you can meet new friends and grow in your faith, a church family that gives back through our community ministry and outreach efforts, and much more!
What if I'm not a Christian?
The Journey is for you! You won't be singled out, so you can relax, make yourself at home, and feel free to participate as much or as little as you feel comfortable doing. No matter where you are on your spiritual journey, you're always welcome at The Journey!
