Lang Lowery

The Rev. Cannon Lang Lowrey is interim rector of St. Teresa's Episcopal Church, Acworth. "What an exciting future is ahead of this parish," Lowery said of his assignment. "Worship attendance is rising, the Day School is growing exponentially and this fall the parish will have many exciting offerings!" Lowery, who also serves as canon for Christian enterprise for the Diocese of Atlanta where he focuses his work on special projects and new initiatives, is assisted at St. Teresa's by the Rev. Terri Brice. Before coming to St. Teresa's Lowrey and Brice served as interims at St. Anne's Episcopal Church, Atlanta. Lowery became an Episcopal priest following a successful career in business. After seminary, Lowery devoted several years to planting a new church in the Atlanta area and became founding rector of St. Benedict's Episcopal Church and School in Smyrna. Later Lowrey served three years as interim president and then president of The General Theological Seminary in New York, bringing the seminary through a period of broad-based restructuring and the creation of new revenue streams.
