What to Expect

What are services like?
We worship with joy and full participation. Below you will find three distinct forms of prayer. Spoken. Each Sunday at 7:45 a.m., we will gather in the Nave for a traditional spoken liturgy of Holy Eucharist from the Book of Common Prayer. This contemplative service will be around 30 minutes, offering stillness and brevity. Episcopal. Each Sunday at 8:30 a.m., we will gather in the Nave for a traditional Episcopal liturgy of Holy Eucharist from the Book of Common Prayer. This service will be distinct in its rich musical offerings, supported by our gifted staff singers. The liturgy will be completed by 9:15 a.m. Global. Each Sunday at 10:30 a.m., we will gather in the Nave for a more innovative and creative liturgy of Holy Eucharist, drawing from many parts of the Anglican world and our own supplemental texts. This service will be supported by our downtown and uptown choirs, along with a full complement of staff singers.

What is the community like?
St. Stephen's is made up of all kinds of people -- young, old, skeptics, activists, healers, straights, singles, gays, folks of varied physicals abilities and ethnic backgrounds who value ambiguity and try to practice the love of God without judging our neighbors.

What if I'm not a Christian?
We welcome all whether they are pursing faith, asking questions, or changing traditions.
