Who We Are

Saint Rafka Maronite Catholic Church is a Catholic community of the Antiochene Syriac Maronite Church in communion with the See of Rome led by Pope Benedict XVI. Our Divine Liturgy (Mass) is celebrated in English as the primary language, with some Arabic, Syriac and Aramaic parts. Books are provided so that you can participate fully with us.

Our Services

What are services like?
The Divine Liturgy is Eastern Rite, not the traditional Latin Rite. The people are friendly and will help you along. Books for the Divine Liturgy are provided. There is a choir, incense and singing in English and Arabic. The Words of Institution of Our Lord are chanted in Aramaic. Communion is given by intinction. Coffee social to follow.

What is the community like?
The majority of the community are from the Middle East, but there are many non-Middle Eastern members of the community. It is mixed even with the Middle Eastern community as there are people from Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Iraq and Palestine. The community is friendly and welcoming to all.

A native of New Orleans, ordained as priest in 1985, Father Bart has served local parishes in the Diocese of Corpus Christi and for the Maronites in Dover, NH, Wilkes-Barre, PA and Greer, SC.
