Our Services

What are services like?
The early service, at 8 a.m., is a "said" service, that is quiet, and without music. Contemplative and reflective, it is a beautiful way to begin the morning. It is followed by coffee hour in the Parish Hall and the Pastor's Bible Study in the Huston Meeting Room. The second service, at 10:30, is a blended service with traditional and contemporary music. Youth are given prominent leadership roles in music. Both services are liturgical and use the Book of Common Prayer. Overhead projector screens make following the service easy and "user friendly".

What is the community like?
The community is diverse with Anglos, Islanders from the Bahamas and Jamaica, and Hispanics worshiping together and serving the Lord Jesus Christ in a integrated, unified community of faith.

What if I'm not a Christian?
Everybody is welcome, even those who are not Christian or who are not members of the Episcopal Church. St. Matthew's is a place to ask question, grow spiritually and to find your way as a child of God.
