What to Expect

What are services like?
Both Sunday services offer a traditional liturgical form of worship. At 8:45 am the music is composed of traditional hymns with organ and classical anthems by a choir of adult women and men. At 10:45 the music is modern and is led by a song team accompanied by piano, drum and guitar. Both services consistently offer relevant preaching and holy communion in an environment that is both relaxed and dignified.

What is the community like?
St. Mary's community is made up of people of all ages and backgrounds. We are economically, socially, racially, and politically diverse. People from all over Pierce County and the Tacoma area call St. Mary's their spiritual home. Warm fellowship and deep relationships are regularly noted as being why people come and stay at St. Mary's. St. Mary's gladly embraces members of the military and their families.

What if I'm not a Christian?
You don't need to be a Christian to come and be a part of St. Mary's. We welcome all people, wherever they may be on the spiritual path. As our mission statement says, the goal of St. Mary's is to open doors to strangers, open minds to understanding, and open hearts to Jesus.
