St. Joseph of Arimathea Orthodox Church and House of Prayer (ROCOR Western Rite)

About Us

Orthodox, Orthodox Western Rite, Celtic Church

We are a tiny mission congregation of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia, meeting for now in the Rectory until we find a location.
We celebrate the Liturgy of St. Ambrose, which is in the Gallican (Celtic) family of Liturgies. Our goal is to be a place of refuge and help for those in need, a house of prayer and ministry, and a part of the true continuing presence of the Primitive Church of the West. We're tiny, and there's a family atmosphere to our gatherings which we intend to nourish and safeguard as we grow.

What to Expect

What are services like?
We meet at our home. Our Liturgy is ancient. We teach the Truth, as it was taught by Christ and the Apostles and the Church Fathers, unchanged for two thousand years. We are not, however, stuffy. There is a deeply reverent, but relaxed, family atmosphere as we gather with Christ at His Altar, and later at the dining room table for pizza. Have kids? Bring them!

What is the community like?
There are only four of us who meet every Sunday. Sometimes it balloons up to five or six! So, the church community is ripe to be built.

What if I'm not a Christian?
Welcome! If you're looking for the Truth, you'll find it (Him) here. If you need a listening ear, come ahead. Mad at the Church? at God? at other people? at yourself? Just curious? Bring your objections, your arguments, your hurts, your questions. God can help you deal with them, and you are welcome in His House,
