About Us

Traditional Episcopal Church with Rite I & Rite II services

We are the only Episcopal Church in Johnson City, Tennessee, and would be very happy to have you join us on Sundays for worship. As a parish in the Episcopal Church in the United States of America (ECUSA), our worship is shaped by almost 2000 years of catholic liturgical tradition, 500 years of particular Anglican expression, and 200 years of American experience.

What to Expect

What are services like?
We have a variety of worship opportunities at St. John's. Our early morning Sunday service at 8:00 AM uses the beloved Rite I liturgy with sermon and no music. The 10:30 AM Sunday service features the Rite II liturgy with choir and organ, using acolytes in procession. On High Holy Days, incense and sung liturgy are added to this service. On the first Wednesday of each month we have a service of Evensong at 6:00 PM. There will be no Evensong Service in January, 2013. Tuesdays at 5:30 PM is Holy Eucharist with Healing. On Thursday mornings Holy Eucharist, Rite I is offered at 10:00 AM.
