What to Expect

What are services like?
Worship is traditional but not so formatted that one sits back and simply observes worship. We worship together in song, prayer and the Word. There are children sermons each week; sometimes with puppet ministry, there are handbell, children's and adult choirs who lead us in worship. We also have special services during Lent such as Taize Worship, Holden Evening Prayer. We also worship with our Christian partners on Putty Hill, St. Ursula Roman Catholic Church and Hiss United Methodist Church several times each year in joint worship. We have an active healing ministry during worship and celebrate Holy Communion at all Sunday Services and at special services.

What is the community like?
St. John's community is friendly, welcoming community of all ages. Most of the congregation are of German ancestry; however, their pastors are of Scot-Irish and Italian ancestry which changes the mix a little. Everyone is welcome at our worship services, at our community events, and most importantly at the Lord's Table.
