    Stephen Powers

    Fr Powers retired after 20 years as a US Navy Chaplain. Graduating in 1982 from the General Theological Seminary of the Episcopal Church, he was ordained priest by the 2d Bishop of San Diego, and served All Saints' Parish, Vista, California. Moving next to Holy Trinity Church, Spokane, Washington (the only Anglo-Catholic parish in that Diocese), he served for two years before being commissioned as a Chaplain, U. S. Navy. During this time, he served at Naval Air Station Memphis; USS Sacramento (AOE-1) during the Gulf War and home-ported in Bremerton, Washington; Military Police/Base Brig at Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, California; Post-Graduate Studies in Islamic Culture at Harvard Divinity School, Cambridge, Massachusetts; First Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, California; USS Kearsarge (LHD-3), Norfolk, Virginia (Kosovo War); Naval Air Station, North Island, San Diego, California.
