  • I grew up at South Highlands. I use to sleep on the pews as a child during Rev. Richard Sharp's services until I was awakened in my spiritual life by Rev. Charles T. Heltman. I was 11 years old when I was baptized at South Highlands where I spent 7 more years under that pastor. I was led to the Lord at an E.J. Daniels Tent Revival in August in the backyard of my elementary school in 1972. I followed in the ordinance of baptism in October of that year. It had a profound effect upon my Christian life as a member for the next 8 years.
