Sherwood Shores First Baptist Church is located at 1044 Hillcrest Circle, one mile off Hwy 377 and 15 miles north of Whitesboro, Texas. The church seeks to minister to all age groups. Sunday School begins at 9:30 AM. Worship follows at 10:30 AM. Sunday evening Bible Studies begin at 6:00 AM. Wednesday TeamKid Club for P-K - 4th meets at 4:15 PM. Other Wednesday group times begin at 6:00 PM. Youth ministry is led by Joel Maresh.

What to Expect

What are services like?
25 minutes of music (a balance of new proven music and proven hymns). Piano and Guitar accompaniment. Sermons are Bible based, verse by verse with contemporary application. We seek to be relaxed and informal.

What is the community like?
Sherwood Shores is a lakeside community with both retirees, those with second homes and those with permanent residences. The church is open and desirous of membership to anyone who seeks fellowship and a place of Christian service.

What if I'm not a Christian?
Everyone is welcome! We will be delighted to share how to have a saving faith and personal relationship with Jesus Christ. A - Admit that you are a sinner. All of us fall short of the perfection that is demanded in order to have an eternal relationship with God. B - Believe that Jesus is God's Son. Jesus came to provide us the way to be perfectly right with God. He paid the debt of our sins. His perfect righteousness is applied to us if we by faith receive him as Savior and Master of our lives. C. Confess Jesus as your Savior and Lord. The Bible says we are to confess openly that Jesus is our Lord and that God raised Jesus from the dead. I want the whole world to know that this church is a genuine caring and loving church. Filled with the most precious people. Run by paster Robert Dennis and his fantastic wife Raquel Dennis. They have worked tirelessly to restore order and stability to a community that has gone thru tornadic distraction leaving the residents of Sherwood Shores in need of food ,clothing, gas, and all basic needs that all humans require. If anyone is looking for a new church home I can honestly say there is no better choice than the Sherwood Shores Baptist church. Friendly loving caring this is definitely the place. I am a new member and could not be happier. And I feel like family to each wonderful soul in attendance each time I go. Come as you are. We understand that Gods family is about love and acceptance.
