On the outside looking in
I moved to this small community 2 years ago this April. Prior to that my husband and I lived in Melbourne but spent our weekends over at River Ranch Rv Resort. Quite often we would drive over to Shady Oaks and even camp at the county Park. I remember thinking how beautiful this church was as I peered out my RV window. A few times I even brought church clothes to attend but for one reason or another I stayed on the outside looking in.
As I started to meet my neighbors, God sent me Ej and Gwen Brooks. In all my years have I never met such awesome people. The more I spoke to them the more I wanted to know where their love came from. When they talk about God and His children they light up. This light is a direct reflection of Christ. They were so happy to always invite me to their church. I can’t say for certain that each time we spoke that I was invited to church but I can say with 💯 certainty that each time we talk ( past , present and future) their excitement for loving others is displayed! I heard such wonderful stories of their church family and how they could not wait for me to meet them. They included me…
Now as I attend this church on a regular basis I have become filled with the love that pours out of the congregation. I am renewed and now I can take all that extra love and pour it out on who God sends my way.
Every chance I get , I go out and tell others about all the wonderful things this church is doing! I tell them how we help others through community outreach, sharing the love of Christ and loving others.
When my husband was teaching me to hunt years ago I could not understand how my scope could pull in light at dark. He explained how one speck of light magnifies the target. That’s what we should all be doing….. magnifying the target!
